Dean H. Hubbell – President & Title Examiner

Dean Hubbell is the President of Rio Blanco County Abstract Company and a title examiner. Dean grew up north of Denver and graduated from Colorado State University in 1975 with a degree in Economics. After a short time in real estate sales in Denver he went to work for a Commonwealth agent in 1977. In 1980 he had the opportunity to move to the western slope and start Commonwealth Title Company of Garfield County in Rifle. After the oil shale bust in 1982, Commonwealth survived as one of the three title agencies still operating in Garfield County. In 2000 they expanded their operations by opening the Glenwood Springs office. In 1997 Commonwealth purchased Rio Blanco County Abstract. The company was operated by Peggy Shults, until Commonwealth sold its Garfield County operations, and Hubbell became a full time presence in the Meeker community.

While working in Meeker during the week, Hubbell still calls Rifle home as he has raised his children there and was deeply involved in community activities. He was an active member of the Rifle Rotary club since 1981, served on the Rifle Area Industrial Development Committee, director on the board of the Downtown Development Authority, director on the board of Community Newspapers and a member of the Elks club since 1980. He has a daughter who graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009, and a son who currently attends Colorado State University. His wife Jan has been a mortgage loan originator for over 20 years.

Hubbell has always been an active supporter of the community and his support in Meeker includes being a Gold sponsor of the Sheep Dog Trials since 1997, instrumental in the placement of the community clock on the court house lawn, adopting a Meeker elementary class, donating to local non-profits and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
